OnTuesday,afteratwo-daycriminaltrial,afederaljuryinColumbiafoundHolland,61,guiltyofstealingtheSocialSecuritypaymentsdueherlatemother,RuthSmithHolland.Shediedin2013attheageof70.
Holland,whoistheformerlongtimedirectorofvoterregistrationandelectionsinAikenCounty,willbesentencedatalaterdateatanasyetunscheduledhearing.
Hollandwasoneofseveralwitnessesputupbythedefenseinitsfutileefforttowinanacquittal.
